Sunday June 11th Coach Jessica, along with some of her swimmers and their families, traveled down to sunny Key West to compete in the Florida Gold Coast Key West ABC Invitational. Coach Jessica said that they were a "small but proud CSSC group" and was proud to report that "all of the kids got best times or swam events that were a real challenge for them".
Samantha Grossman and Beckhem Korb each earned an impressive 3 1st place victories. Grossman placed 1st in her 50 Back by dropping nearly 6 seconds, with a new personal best time of 57.50. She also placed 1st in her 50 Breast (1:11.58), and her 100 Free (1:48.53). Korb shaved time from all of his previous personal best times, including nearly 23 seconds from his 200 Free (3:13.45) , 5 seconds from his 100 Back (1:50.85), and 2 seconds from his 100 Breast (1:57.89) all of which he came in 1st place.
Kennedy Grisby also improved her times at the meet. She improved her 100 Back time by more than 5 seconds and came in 2nd place.
More impressive time drops include Contessa Gilley's 12 seconds drop from her 100 Free, coming in at 2:05.68, Meaghan Swack's 22 seconds drop from her 200 Back at 3:43.10, and Savannah Korb's 11 seconds drop in her 100 Back at 1:38.13. Giley, Swack, and Korb each earned 3rd place finished for these new personal best times.
This was 9-year-old Chelsea Reichler's first meet with CSSC. Coach Jessica said that Reichler "swam like a champ the whole meet". She placed 4th in her 100 Free (2:30.39), 5th in her 50 Free (1:05.78), and 6th in her 50 Back (1:07.34).
